Support your PAC

In times of great change there is great opportunity and great risk.  With the recent elections there will be a change of Presidents and party, but also of policies and personnel. There will be larger majorities in both the House and Senate. The chair of the Senate Small Business Committee will change along with the make up of both the House and Senate committees. The SBIC and private equity community will be greatly affected by the coming changes. You should know that NASBIC is actively working on your behalf to navigate this dynamic environment and advocate on your behalf. But we need your help.

Achieving our legislative goals requires Members of Congress who are willing to be champions of our proposals and defend our interests.  NASBIC will press Congress for increasing the amount an SBIC can invest in a portfolio company,  raising the leverage caps to any one fund to $150 million, raising the leverage cap that applies to SBICs under common control to $250 million, and increasing the speed that SBICs can draw leverage.  Further, Congress and the new Administration will be actively engaging on economic stimulus, taxes, implementation of the $750 billion Troubled Asset Relief Plan, financial regulation overhaul, and other major initiatives that will affect your business. The key question is whether the government’s actions will occur with the input of our business community or left to others.

To help us be a strong voice for you in Washington we are writing to ask for your financial support of NASBIC-PAC.  Our Political Action Committee (PAC) plays a critical role in our government affairs efforts on behalf of not only the SBIC program, but also of your broader business interests. NASBIC-PAC contributions to selected Senators, Members of Congress, and leadership organizations will help us ensure your voice is heard.  Your contribution will give NASBIC-PAC the money it needs to do its work.

With your immediate financial support, we can take full advantage of the opportunity these tumultuous times present.  Please feel free to call me at NASBIC—if you have any questions concerning NASBIC-PAC.

Thank you for your support.
